We’re proud to announce the recipient of the 2025 Mike McInnes Memorial Bursary, David Price! Presented at the Carihi Awards ceremony in June, David is starting his 2-year Coastal Forest Technology Diploma in September. He is waiting to hear if he will be hired as a Wildland Firefighter for the summer; fingers crossed!  We’re excited for David to start his career in the forest industry.

This annual award commemorates Mike McInnes, who was fatally injured in an accident at a marshaling point near Woss, BC in November of 2011. Mike worked for HDL as part of the road crew. In honor of Mike, this Memorial Forestry Award will support young individuals with aspirations of a career in the forest and logging industry.
